How to enable elearning with minimum cost and effort in Eminima? Try these:
- Get your own Internet server so you can develop elearning content on your own. This server is the Slax/EM
miniCD that you can use with any Pentium PC with CDROM drive. All our
partners have this miniCD. They will give you a copy at cost. Or open
the email link to order a copy - click on the dome icon above, right.
$10 should be sufficient to cover courier costs. Using that miniCD is
the same as using these pages. For practice, try this link for authoring, then get oriented on how to use the miniCD here.
- If you have course documents in print (hardcopy), convert these to digital form using the Puppy miniCD. You can obtain this CD, too, from our partners, or download and burn your own copy. If you ordered the Slax/EM miniCD above, this miniCD will also be provided (so you get two miniCDs in one order). Read this article about the tools of documentation for elearning.
- Once you have the miniCDs above, you should be able to put together
your course content. You will then want to transfer these contents to a
new miniCD. The instructions are here,
or get help from your nearest partner. The new miniCD is a ready
Internet server for your course. You can deploy it using any Pentium PC
with a CDROM drive.
- You may want to have your content hosted by a third party. Mail us
so we can give you a referral. The cost of a shared website (shared
space and domain name) should be no more than $10 per year. Getting a
unique domain name (.org, .net or .info) plus your own hosting package
should cost about $48 per year. If you have friends who want to share
your domain name, up to four of them can share your site at no added
cost (billing them for the services is up to you). By this time, you
should have become an EM expert and the new partner in your area, so
feel free to bill users for your services!
For user training, a half-day lecture and demo will be
sufficient. For hands-on/tutorial, add another half day. Mail us or
contact the EM partner in your area.
